Our Process

Bond Rees undertake a total of 3 visits to the initial service address to attempt process service in full compliance with laws and civil procedure, obtaining verification of personal identification of the defendant or recipient, and ensuring correct proof of service to remove any potential of future challenge or denial of this for our client.

If the initial target address does not yield satisfactory results, our professional and tenacious process servers will attempt service at other locations known to offer potential for this such as a workplace or the home of a partner, close friend, or relative for example.

Where it is suspected that the defendant is present at a premises but not cooperating with service, our agent will employ legitimate techniques to encourage contact and facilitate service and we are also able to offer a person or debtor tracing service should it transpire that the recipient has relocated or absconded.

On completion of process service we will advise our client and issue necessary proforma to evidence this such as a statement of service or affidavit.

In the rare instances that we are unable to achieve service we will help our client however we can in order to minimise delay to proceedings and will provide all reports and proof required to permit application for third-party or substituted service or any other required next steps.

Process Server FAQs

What happens if you cannot find someone to serve them?

Our professional investigators are experienced and resilient process servers who will go to all reasonable lengths to locate an evasive defendant and if they are deemed to have relocated or absconded, we are also able to provide a professional person tracing provision as an additional service if requested.

If the defendant proves wholly impossible to serve, there are other options available such as third-party or substituted service that allow proceedings to continue, and your legal case will not have to terminate due to this.

Can a defendant trick a process server?

It is not uncommon for defendants to attempt to fool or hide from a process server and they have no legal obligation to present for service. Our professional process servers are experienced in this behaviour and fully trained in counter methods and will persist with service until it is achieved.
