Our Process

Bond Rees act with speed and diligence when process serving and will visit the primary or home address once this information and agreement to proceed has been received to obtain correct verification of identity and serve legal papers in person as instructed.

If we cannot serve at our first visit, we will undertake 3 further attempts to serve at the home address and will then attempt this at other known locations such as the place of work or anywhere else the target is known to regularly attend.

Our tenacious and experienced process servers will engage persuasive methods and tactics to assist with process serving if the target is evasive but always consider legal limits and acceptable conduct and will never employ any illegitimate or irresponsible strategy.

In the unlikely event that serving is not possible, we will issue our client with all reports and evidence needed to assist with gaining consent for substituted service or third-party service and we are able to undertake this as a separate piece of work once instructed.

Bond Rees ensure that our clients receive official documentation to verify service has been completed such as a certificate or statement of service or Sworn Affidavit.

Process Server FAQs

What if you cannot serve my legal document?

This will not mean that proceedings have to terminate as there are many other options available if initial service attempts fail; we can try to serve legal papers at an alternative address or consent can be gained for substituted service where papers are provided to another named person or notice of service can be issued via other means in extreme situations.

Can a defendant hide from a process server?

The defendant has no obligation to present themselves for service and it is not uncommon for them to try to hide from or evade this. However, there are options in these situations and proceedings will be ongoing and there will be little benefit for the defendant long term from behaving in this manner.

How soon can Bond Rees serve a court order?

As soon as you need it; we have experienced process servers ready to undertake service across the UK whenever required and with short notice.

Where do you cover?

Bond Rees cover the whole of the UK and can provide reliable and proficient process serving wherever your requirement lies.
