We respond without delay on receipt of instruction to visit the target address and serve documents personally and quickly, obtaining full and valid verification of the individual’s identity within this process.

If the initial attempt to serve the target at their home address is unsuccessful or if they evade, we persist with repeat attempts to complete process serving at the primary address.

If process serving continues to be unachievable at the home or initial location, we will try other options such as the workplace or other potential location of the target and, whilst ensuring legal compliance, will employ techniques and strategies to encourage this.

If we fail to complete process serving, we will provide third-party or substituted service if agreed and instructed.

Bond Rees make certain that our clients are provided with all reports and legal documentation needed to prove that process serving has been completed such as a certificate or statement of service or Sworn Affidavit as applicable.

Process Server Case Study: The Dishonest Sibling

Location: Birmingham

What we did

Death can be a messy business, and legalities can get tangled up with the emotional sides of dealing with the passing of a family member, which can further complicate matters. We dealt with a big process serving case a couple years ago in Dudley, Birmingham, that involved a beneficiary of a will.

A father died, who was survived by his four children. One of the sons was a benefactor, who was in charge of the will. He decided to pocket all of the money his father had left to them, even though the will specified that it was to be distributed equally among the four children. One of the daughters hired Bond Rees process servers to serve legal papers to her brother, in hopes of recovering the stolen funds.

Results

After tailing the son for a week, and trying his Dudley home and work address to no avail, Bond Rees finally located him working on a farm house in Shirley that he had purchased using the stolen money. The son was at the top of a ladder working on fixing the shingles on the roof, and using a photograph of him provided by his sister, our agent managed to identify him.

Our process server climbed up the ladder and onto the roof, cornering the son. He was served his papers on the roof of his new house, and was taken to court. The client was happy with the result, and the case was resolved in court.
