Our Private Detectives have caught cheating partners in Liverpool

Private Investigator Case Study: The Cheater & His Secretary

Location: Birkenhead, Liverpool

What we did

In our line of business, we work on a varied array of different types of private investigator jobs. One stand out job we completed was back in April of 2021. Our private investigators in Liverpool were hired by a client in Birkenhead (in the Wirral, across the water from Liverpool), who was beginning to think her husband, a military man, was having an affair. Unfortunately, this is rather common, but luckily we were here to help and to figure out what was going on using our expert surveillance services.

We were contracted for a week, and we sent one of our Liverpool-based professional private investigators to follow the husband to  see what he was up to. It turns out that the husband was no longer in the army, like his wife believed, but working in a local factory. He had left the army 6 months prior without informing his wife. Already, this is a bad sign, but it meant that our private investigator was on the right track. He drafted an interim report that he sent back to the client, and she urged him to keep investigating.

After following him to and from his job in the Ellesmere Port for a week, our detective finally caught him out when he let his guard slip outside a hotel in Bootle. Our private investigator caught the husband having an affair with the secretary of the company he worked for on the second to last day of the investigation. While this is the ultimate cheating partner cliché, this is unfortunately what happened to our client.

Results

Our on-site surveillance professional collected the necessary evidence and reported back to the client. She was devastated that her suspicions had been confirmed, but relieved to know what was going on and filed for divorce. With the use of the evidence we collected for her, she was able to proceed with a smooth and expedited divorce. This case was a successful result for our client.

All our private investigators are highly-trained, and they are guaranteed to get the job done, in a professional and sensitive manner.

Bond Rees detectives caught a benefits cheat in Runcorn, near Liverpool

Private Investigator Case Study #2: The Benefits Cheat

Location: Runcorn, Liverpool

What we did

Our Liverpool private investigators were call by an insurance company to investigate an individual for potential fraud. The man had run his own construction company in Runcorn and was earning a good salary but suffered a fall at work. The injuries had appeared severe initially and prevented him from working in the early months. However, the insurance company wanted Bond Rees to follow up on the man because they had received a tip-off that he was now well and full able, while claiming benefits and insurance payments.

We were provided the individual’s address and place a surveillance specialist on his house to gather some evidence against. Our detective waited outside the house for a few hours and there was no sign of the subject. We then knocked on some doors to speak to neighbours to gather more intelligence about the individual’s whereabouts and recent actions. One of the neighbours told us that he was in fact on holiday, and that he wasn’t due back until the Friday of that week.

While it isn’t illegal to have a holiday when injured or claiming benefits, we always have our suspicions, especially when we realised the gentlemen has gone on a holiday to Thailand. Trips to Thailand often involve fairly strenuous excursions and are not suited to somebody who struggles to walk.

We returned to the property in the early hours of the Friday morning and waited outside the property for his return. It was mid-morning before a taxi turned up with the man and his wife. We filmed him as he effortlessly got out of the taxi and then proceeded to carry three heavy suitcases up his driveway to his house. Seeing this, we decided to do some more digging online.

It didn’t take long before we located some recent photos and videos on his wife’s social media account (a common error for benefits cheats) showing the man climbing onto an elephant and playing frisbee on the beach. It was clear that the man was in fact a benefits cheat and thought he was safe to relax the façade when on holiday. Little did he know that a simple lapse on concentration would be his downfall.

Results

The insurance company were happy with the evidence we had gather and proceeded to launch prosecution proceedings against the individual. They even hired Bond Rees to serve the court papers.

This is a prime example of how our private investigators can catch benefits cheats. We have the knowledge, experience and understanding of how these people’s minds work. Some think they are clever but they eventually let their guard down and are caught out.

Due to the nature of the fraud and the large sums of money the man was claiming in insurance payments and benefits (Over £85,000 per year), the man was given a prison sentence and told to pay back the money. Our client was very happy and so were the DWP who also prosecuted him.
