Further investigation revealed that the engineer had suffered a fall while conducting a survey along the riverbank, injuring their leg and rendering them unable to return to the city. Fortunately, local hikers discovered the engineer and provided assistance. However, their phone had been damaged, preventing communication with the firm.

After receiving medical treatment and recovering from their injury, the engineer was able to return to the project, ensuring that the waste management modernisation efforts remained on schedule.
